Half Moon Bay, CA

I have been to Half Moon Bay several times over the years. It’s one of my favorite areas to visit because of the variety of things you can do within a short distance and the beaches are so, so tight. The Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival is held downtown every Fall. It’s basically another fair with vendors but the atmosphere is cool because there are pumpkin carving and growing contests, a haunted house put on by a local school, different pumpkin-themed foods, music, and performers. Fitzgerald Marine Reserve is nearby at Moss Beach. If you go at low tide you can see a bunch of cute critters. The Bluff Trail starts at the preserve parking lot and goes along the bluff overlooking Seal Cove. Mavericks Beach is famous for surfing and is beautiful all the time because the tide comes in from several directions at once. The Purisima Redwood Forest has trails climbing to sick views and there are several low key beach access points across from it. It’s cool here.
