Since moving to Florida I’ve noticed that there are lots of tucked away parks, nature centers, and preserves showing what these areas looked like before they were developed. They’re not all necessarily big or anything miraculous, but they’re interesting little areas offering respite from the south florida urban jungle. Just some nice spots to go for a walk.
I came across Winston Park when I was at LA fitness in Coconut Creek and saw a green area on my google map while figuring out how to get home. It’s almost right across the street from the shopping center where the gym is. A few minutes later I’m on a boardwalk enjoying an afternoon stroll among the cypress trees and ferns. I read that the boardwalk is about 1000 ft long.
