Green Cay in Boynton Beach, FL is one of these wetland preserves with a boardwalk trail that you find around South Florida. This one is pretty big and has a few boardwalk loops for meandering. I didn’t see any gators but saw tons of birds and turts. I recommend going to these places early or later in the day when it’s a little cooler.
We saw anhingas, blue herons, green herons, a great blue heron, and a roseate spoonbill which are kinda rare to see. It feels a little nerdy to get all pumped on birds, but coming from a place without large birds like this it’s cool to me. The turtles are always cute to see swimming around. Chill spot to stroll along the boardwalk if you’re looking for somewhere to see some wildlife and sweat your balls off.
